The dates for the 2017 ride have been announced. It will be taking place from Friday 23rd - Monday 26th June 2017.
Well that's the 2016 ride done and dusted. I think I can speak for everyone when I say we all had a fantastic time and are looking forward to next year - wherever it may take us! Keep an eye out for news about next year's ride later in the year.
We've just received a rather large anonymous donation to the First Night Ride fundraising page. A huge thank you to whomever you are!
The First Night Ride is an annual tour of theatres around the UK on motorcycles and classic cars that raises money for The Theatrical Guild, the only charity dedicated to looking after the interests of Backstage and Front of House personnel. The first ride took place in June 2010.

Each participant will be responsible for their own, petrol, food and accommodation costs, however we negotiate group discounts and special deals to minimise the expenditure. A number of the places we are visiting and our sponsor companies will provide some hospitality and assistance along the way. See our sponsors page for the current listing. There will be at least one chase vehicle taking part to follow the ride. The chase vehicle can carry the luggage you don’t need during the day and can provide shelter for pillion if required.
Essentially this is a road trip by technicians, actors and supporters in aid of theatre technicians and FOH personnel, visiting interesting theatres. It is a win win situation for a very worthy cause; the TTG is 125 years old this year. For more information about the TTG click here. The 2016 ride is a four day event and is open to anyone with a motorcycle, classic vehicle or regular car. Vehicles should have at least a 100 mile range to minimise fuel stops. Each person should aim to raise at least £500 in donations to the TTG of which £100 is a non refundable registration fee. The event is also open on a daily basis as not everyone will have the time for the full trip. The day rate is £25 which is a non refundable registration fee.
